I started out with the company in 2000 as a freelance writer in its Linux/Open Source channel. I took on freelance editorial responsibilities later that year and was hired as a managing editor for LinuxToday and LinuxPlanet in September of 2000.
In 2002 I moved over to the company's IT/Networking channel by assuming the managing editor's position at EnterpriseNetworkingPlanet. I took a hiatus from the company to return to school in early 2003, and returned in 2004 to resume my position at EnterpriseNetworkingPlanet. Since then I've added the managing editor slots at InstantMessagingPlanet, PracticallyNetworked and Sharky Extreme.
My work as an editor has given me a lot of excuses to indulge some other interests. I like to script with Ruby and have written a library and several Web applications that help me work with content more efficiently and generate custom reports from Google Analytics. I've also written a Rails application to help me track invoices and content performance.
